For the Garden Album

I'm sure there are many public and private gardens one could visit in the NW but these two are not well known ( so I think we have a little extra incentive to go see them).
The first one, Deepwood Estate with its surrounding gardens, is very accessible being in downtown Salem.

This is who our group consisted of. (Plus me)

Tours of this house are given on some days, but not the day we visited.

The second that we visited on Tuesday is completely obscure, rather difficult to find, and gets even less publicity. It's at the end of a street in beautiful Lake Oswego.  (The gorgeous homes on the way in are a treat for the eyes.) You would never know this large public garden was there unless someone told you about it.(The gates are open from 9-5.) Thus on the day we visited we saw no one else as we walked around this rambling peaceful garden for a couple of hours.  The Bishop's Close, as it is called, (isn't that a mysterious, provocative sounding name?) is just wonderful.
(My Photos of it will appear in the next post)

Feeding the Horse

At this time of year there is a copious amount of unusable apples. The horse, therefore, benefits and today it's also a fun activity for Rilla and Tytus to do together.

One for Misty and one for me.

The Addition

The little house is getting a new room. And the men (who have come to help) heave ho while the ladies watch.

Personally I think that could be considered team effort all around.
