Insect View

Nature will bear the closest inspection.
She invites us to lay our eye level
with her smallest leaf,
and take an insect view of its plain.

Henry David Thoreau

The wild Bee reels from bough to bough
With his furry coat and his gauzy wing,
Now in a lily cup, and now
Setting a jacinth bell a-swing,
In his wandering.

Oscar Wilde

HI Cheri! I am enjoying your blog.
Our precious twin girls have arrived. I'd love to get together with you for coffee/tea soon.
What camera/lens are you using for your close ups. You are doing a great job! Miss You!

Hi Carol! I'm so glad you commented.I've been thinking about you and yes we need to get together. I'll call you next week. About the camera - I have a Nikon
D60 and just use the regular lens. I set it on *close up* or *sports*.
Then if I get a realy sharp pic I can crop some and bring it even closer.
Hope to see you soon.

Lovely, lovely photos! The bee in flight is really something.

I found a teensie weensie spider on my lilacs the other day and snapped its photo - one of those "ugh!" and "ahh!" all in one. :)

The bee in flight is awesome! They are all lovely as usual, particularly hearing you don't have a macro lens.
