Americans~ Civil War Reenactment

Both parties deprecated war, but one of them would make war rather than let the nation survive, and the other would accept war rather than let it perish,
and the war came.

~Abraham Lincoln~

Neither party expected for the war the magnitude or the duration which it has already attained. Neither anticipated that the cause of the conflict might cease with or even before the conflict itself should cease. Each looked for an easier triumph, and a result less fundamental and astounding.

~A. Lincoln~

Reenactment

"Abandon your animosities and make your sons Americans."

Robert E. Lee, 1865;"He Lost a War and Won Immortality"
~Louis Redmond~

Thanks for this post Cheri! My husband and I had wanted to go, but it was pre-empted by grandchildren's birthday party preparations and celebration.

I'm glad we made it even though we had to battle the rain and wind and glad you came to join us. I love for the kids to see living history.
